At Christmas, we receive food donations which include Christmas-related foods as well as the normal “most needed” non-perishable items that we give to clients, and on occasion we also benefit from some who donate Christmas gifts. These are distributed where possible via the six foodbank sessions across the city to clients who in are collecting their emergency food parcels.
A local author, Kathleen Harryman, has previously provided a donation such as this to us and this year is no exception. Last week Kathleen made her donation and these are now sorted and on their way to the centres to clients.
Not looking for any recognition, Kathleen is clear that she makes her donation for one clear reason: “The driving force behind the items I donate is my belief in spreading the magic of Christmas. I have maintained over the years that Santa lives in each of us, and in giving gifts we bring a special joy”.

As usual, we value all donations – if you have food to donate please see our website for the “most needed” items at present. If you prefer to donate chocolate, mince pies, Christmas cakes or puddings, please make sure that you get these to us as soon as possible.
