Christmas donations 2024

As usual we really value donations from individuals and organisations at Christmas time. In addition to the emergency food parcels that are generated when a client is referred, the centres can also add Christmas-related food items into the parcels. This gives our clients real benefits in receiving items that perhaps, when struggling and needing emergency food parcels, are a real bonus.

What is essential to us here at York Foodbank is that when these donations are made and collated at our central warehouse, that we are then able to get the donations to clients in good time. As a guideline, donations received after Tuesday 10^th December may not be possible to reach clients before Christmas. This is because after that date we only have two possible delivery days which would get these items to the centres, for clients, before Christmas.

This is just a guideline, however, would be really helpful to us (and our clients) if donations were received before this date. As such, if you are intending your Christmas donations to reach someone before Christmas, please try to get these to us before 10^th December which gives us time to get them to clients.

Typical donations at Christmas of seasonal items are:

Christmas puddings

Chocolate selection boxes

Chocolates

Biscuits

Christmas cakes

… and any other Christmas related items are welcome.

Our website, our Facebook page, and the bank the food APP all show what our ‘normal’ most needed non-perishable items are right now.
