Over the last year we have had two big deliveries of bags made by those at HMP/YOI at Low Newton, an all-female prison in County Durham, the latest came in this week.
The bags are made from Ocado’s old uniforms which they recycle, giving the women valuable, transferable, sewing, and manufacturing skills and helping them work towards achieving a certificate in this field.
Our centres will use these for the food parcels instead of plastic carrier bags.
