Christmas Donations at York Foodbank

15th November 2021

At York Foodbank we are extremely grateful for the support of local people helping local people, ensuring that no one needs to go without food in times of hardship. Christmas can be challenging for many at the best of times. This year, especially, we fear that many families and individuals are likely to struggle amid the festivities which Christmas and Advent bring.

If you would like to help bring a little Christmas cheer to families this year there are three things which we would ask you to consider:

  1. Earliest is best. The sooner in December we receive any Christmas donations, the more opportunity we have to share them. If at all possible we ask if you would please aim to complete any Christmas collection you may be planning by 10th December.
  2. Non-food items are often most important. Laundry detergent, Washing-Up Liquid, and Toilet rolls are basic essentials which none of us can manage without.
  3. If you would prefer to make a financial gift, this will help families to purchase much needed fresh and frozen items, as well as helping us to offer support services to assist families for the longer term.

If you would like to purchase donations for York Foodbank for Christmas we would suggest:

  • Christmas Pudding
  • Christmas Cake
  • Confectionary
  • Selection Boxes
  • Biscuits
  • Savoury Snacks
  • Toiletry Gift Sets (Male/Female)
  • We also gratefully accept donations of new toys or suitable gift tokens for children and teenagers.
